For 25 years I have been working with children in underserved communities from Harlem to Calcutta to provide them with violins, violas and cellos.  These instruments have played a part in math scores going up, violence diminishing, communication improving, high school being completed, often with honors, and joy being spread through music.  I have seen children who were given a half size violin when they were eight years old, go on to graduate from Juilliard.  Two friends and I recently turned this work into a non-profit organization called The Open String.  To learn more...

With Cellist Dr. Kevin Krentz I have created a design and innovation company that specializes in fine string instruments and instrument accessories.
We aspire to solve both the small and the seemingly intractable problems faced by string players and to design truly revolutionary solutions with obvious and powerful results.  The Krentz Modulator and Wolf eliminator, seen on cellos used by soloists and in symphony orchestras worldwide is the invention of Dr. Kevin Krentz, whom I am proud to collaborate with.
