Robert Brewer-Young is a one-off! Somehow in his presence the world seems to be a different – and much better – place. I’m very honoured that he has made for me a beautiful cello, a copy of the Marquis de Corberon Stradivarius on which I play most of my concerts. Robert’s cello is named the Lady Joanna (in honour of my girlfriend Joanna!); and I am happy to report that it has many of the noble qualities both of its model and of its namesake…
